Rajouri School premises turn filthy after heavy rain
The Government Girls Middle School becomes a dump of garbage and solid waste whenever there is a heavy rain in the region. The school premises take no time turning into a pond choked with polythene bags, garbage and solid waste. The students have been complaining about the matter from quite a long time and have also took the matter to the higher authorities too but no step had been taken by them.
Ironically, the school is situated in the CEO’s complex and despite that no concrete step has been taken by the concerned authorities. The repairs carried out the PWD authorities after several protests held last year have proved futile as the water keeps entering the school complex. The situation put the lives of the students as well as the staff at risk.
Even the classrooms are full of waste and garbage. The issue had been raised with the authorities but no step has been taken in response to the appeals made by the teachers as well as the students. Even the Deputy Commissioner had visited the school and passed directions to the CEO and PWD officials but that again has done nothing.
While constructing the CEO office the engineers skipped to lay an outlet for the drain that carries waste water from the old town. The matter has been taken up to the DC but the Department has not initiated any step despite the direct instructions issued to them.
