Ramban: District Development commissioner Ramban, Farooq Shah Bukhari convened a meeting of Panchayat Members of Batote, Rajgrah and Ramban blocks and sought their assistance in assessment of flood damages .
ACD, Arvind Karwani, CPO, Parshotam Kumar, BDOs and field functionaries of RDD department were also present in the meeting.
The DDC urged the Sarpanchs to come forward and take initiative for making loss assessment occurred due to recent incessant rains and flood in the state. He directed the revenue and RDD field staff to work in close co-ordination with the PRIs at the grass root level so that assistance would be provide to genuine persons without any delay.
Mr. Shah asked the PRIs to take part in Systematic Voters’ Education And Electoral Participation (SVEEP) drive which has been launched by the district administration in the district for accelerating the vote percentage in the coming Assembly Elections.
During this interaction the PRI representatives put forward their demands before the DDC regarding compensation for damage and loss of Houses and agriculture due to incessant rain and flood and also apprised DDC about status of availability of essential services like Electricity, Water, Health, Education, Sanitation, road connectivity and food grains in the area.
The DDC requested the PRI representatives to maintain peace and universal brotherhood and apply optimistic approach for ensuring overall development of the society and assured them that no stone shall be left unturned in making the services available at the door steps of the people and all out effort are being made at every level for providing relief to those who were in one or other way affected in the recent floods in the district.
