Jammu, Dec 17: A review meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Minster for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in his Office Chamber at Civil Secretariat Jammu on 17/12/12015.
Besides Secretary RD & PR, HoDs of the department and senior Officers of the Administrative Department attended the meeting. For strengthening the Panchayati Raj Institutions, it was decided that department will engage 1200 Accountant cum Data Entry operators at panchayat level in clusters so that the panchayats are able to function on modern lines and also have means to maintain the books of account. The decision has been taken as the Panchayats have to frame Gram Panchayat Development Plan’s (GPDP) and shall be the pivots of gross root planning and development.
For effective implementation and achievement of targets of Centrally Sponsored Schemes/programmes of the department has also decided to Designate ADDCs in the Districts as District Nodal Officers of Rural Development Department viz-a-viz facilitators towards implementation of schemes / programmes of Rural Development Department and for monitoring of which the department will provide funds for meeting the expenses on account of POL, OE and hiring of Vehicles to ADDCs.
