In a two-day-long mega drive held at Government Degree college, Reasi, over 50 youth were offered training letters under the Udaan scheme. The event saw major turn out of youth from Reasi.
Companies such as Accenture, Save Express, Reliance HR Services were party to the event. There were opportunities for students from varied streams as the recruiters were hunting for youth with capabilities in diffeerent sectors i.e. IT, ITES, consulting, banking and security services.
The students were put to test by various top-notch corporate giants and interviewed by industry biggies. Though a few technical assessments were being carried out at the venue, the rough estimates and trends suggest that minimum of 50 training offers have been made.
Udaan has strengthened the youth of Jammu and Kashmir by providing them a platform interact with Corporate leaders and earn themselves a training offer. The training which lasts 3-6 months helps the youth to further hone their skills and empowers them for brighter future prospects after which, job is offered in respective sectors pan India. The venture by Ministry of Home Affairs and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has already placed many youth from Jammu and Kashmir in allied sectors, many of whom are earning a handsome amount today.
Elated at the response and successful completion of the drive at Reasi, Executive Officer, NSDC Komal said that “we are glad that the drive at Reasi has recieved such an over-whelming response and many a students have recieved offer letters too”. ” We are also certain that the numbers will go higher in the next drive”, she added.
