Reasi’s Tourism Potential be explored fully
Jammu, May 19: Jammu and Kashmir State especially Reasi district is one of the most scenic places of the world which is world over know for famous cave shrine of Shri Mat Vaishno Devi, Shiv Khori, local cultural heritage, crafts and hospitality, however, to explore its tourist potential optimally we have to cultivate and construct high end infrastructure in other parts of the district.
This was stated by Member Legislative Assembly, Reasi Ajay Nanda today, who convened a joint officers meeting at conference hall of mini secretariat, Reasi to review the pace of on-going development works in the district carried out by the different executing agencies.
Nanda said that tourist industry is the life line and backbone of our economy and its development means overall development of State’s economy
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi -Sushma Chauhan in her welcome address briefed about various ongoing projects and development schemes.
Nanda directed the officers to ensure expeditious execution of development works to extend their benefit to the people. He also asked for keeping a strict check over quality of works besides ensuring judicious use of funds as the effort should be to create sustainable assets catering area specific developmental needs.
Nanda impressed on the need for transparency and accountability by all. Excuses should not be the reasons for any department to shy away from their duties and obligations, he added.
He also appreciated DC for “Single Window System” established for time bound address of people’s grievances and also constitution of committees to improve work culture in Schools.
SSP Reasi-Sujit Kumar, ADC Reasi-Shiv Kumar Gupta, CPO Reasi-HL Sharma, ExEn PDD, PHE, PWD, PMGSY, ACD-Suram Sharma, ACR-Abdul Sartar, CMO, all district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
