Srinagar: One day capacity building workshop of District Red Cross officials of Kashmir Province was organized by Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu and Kashmir State Branch at its Camp Office at Red Cross House, Srinagar which was presided over by the Roma Wani, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir State.
Representatives from different districts participated in the workshop that was organized with a view to review the activities of Red Cross Society at all levels and to develop and promote better networking between the Districts, Regional and State offices. Various issues and activities were discussed and solutions were debated in the meeting.
General Secretary Roma Wani while speaking on the occasion underlined the need for strengthening the volunteer base in their respective districts for carrying out Red Cross operations in a coordinated and effective way at the time of any natural calamity and mishaps. She instructed the participants to ensure the cancellation and withdrawal of earlier issued identity cards and said that process on issuance of new identity cards to active volunteers is in full swing. She highlighted the benefits of the Jan Aushadhi scheme and said opening of many more Jan Aushadhi stores is on the cards.
