New Delhi, Sep 05 : State-owned telecom giant Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a voice and data centric plan for Rs 429, which will provide unlimited voice and 1 GB data per day for 90 days for prepaid mobile services.
This plan will give free voice (local/STD) on any network and 90 GB data (1 GB per day) for 90 days on pan-India basis (except Kerala Circle), a company statement said here on Tuesday.
RK Mittal, Director (Consumer Mobility) BSNL board said: “This voice and data centric plan is available for Rs 429, that is, Rs 143 per month which gives unlimited voice (local/STD) on any net and 90 GB data (at 1 GB per day) for 90 days, which is the most competitive plan in present market scenario.”
The plan competes with Jio’s Rs 999 plan which also offers unlimited voice calls and 90GB data for 90 days. While BSNL has an FUP limit of 1GB on the data usage, Jio offers unlimited data. The Jio’s Rs 999 plan offers 90GB 4G data for 90 days and in case you’ve used the 90GB 4G data, the internet would continue to work but at a reduced speed of 128kbps.
In terms of price, the BSNL plan sounds cheaper than the Jio but there’s an advantage with Jio. You get to use unlimited data with Jio even though at reduced speed but data continues to work.
BSNL recently also launched Rs 298 plan which again competes with Airtel’s Rs 399 plan and Jio’s Rs 349 plan. The company offers unlimited STD and local calls along with unlimited data for 56 days under the plan. There is again an FUP data limit of 1GB data daily, post which the internet would work but at a reduced speed of 80kbps.
