Restriction in Tral As Separatist Calls for Pulwama Bandh


Pulwama: Authorities on Wednesday imposed strict restrictions in and around Tral which witnessed massive and violent protests yesterday against an army action resulting in the killing of two local youth, Khalid Muzaffar and Younis Ahmad.

More than a dozen persons including some men in uniform were injured in the day long protests in Tral on Tuesday.

Locals informed said that “undeclared curfew” has been imposed in the town however police sources said that deployment of the law enforcing persons has been increased “only to maintain law and order”.

According to Police and army Khalid was an OGW (Over Ground Worker) while as Younis was a militant. However, Khalid’s parents deny the police version saying that he was a civilian. They alleged that their son was killed by torture after taking him in custody.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir today against the said killings.

Shutdown call has been given by almost all the separatist leaders.
