Restrictions in Old City on Monday ahead of Afzal Guru’s second anniversary

'Afzal Guru deserved the same reprieve'Srinagar: Authorities to impose restrictions in five police stations of old city Srinagar on Monday. This comes ahead of second anniversary of Afzal Guru.

The restriction will be imposed depending on the circumstances, said Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone.

Separatist leaders of all factions and JKLF have separately called for strike to mark Guru’s anniversary.
JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has also called for a March up to United Nation’s Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to demand the bodies of Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Bhat be returned to JK.
However, Police on Sunday arrested Malik to thwart the march.
