Jammu : After the killing of Hizul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani on 8th of July, the Internet services were closed down in the state.
Regarding the continuation of the ban on the internet, a meeting will be held today chaired by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pawan Kotwal. In the meeting, the security aspects of the Jammu division will be audited and decision regarding the continuation of the Internet ban or its interruption will be taken subsequently.
Due to the violence erupted in the Valley, for the past seven days mobile internet services have been disrupted throughout the state. In spite of the fact that there are no signs of any clash or disturbance in Jammu, the internet was discontinued in order to avoid any disturbance.
Where on one hand, the locals are bothered by the ban on their cyberspace, on the other hand, this ban has caused heavy loss on the state business too.
The meeting was delayed initially due to the intense situation in Valley.
