Revenue Minister reviews situation in Chadoora


Orders attachment of Tehsildar Pampore

Srinagar, April 02 Minister for Revenue, Mr. Javaid Mustafa Mir accompanied by district administration Budgam today visited various areas of Chadoora and took stock of situation arising due to incessant rainfall and landslides in the area. The Minister is personally monitoring the situation from Sangam to Ram Munshi Bagh along the river Jhelum.

The Minister got appraisal of basic amenities being provided by the Government to the people of the affected areas. He called for immediate restoration of connectivity in the disconnected areas of district Budgam.

The Minister visited various areas including B.K. Pora, Dangerpora, Kanipora, Chattergam, Bugam, Panzipora, Chadoora and adjoined areas. He inspected the power receiving station at Bagat Kanipora. The Minister also visited the areas surrounding Dal Lake to take stock of the situation in view of the rising water level in the lake.

The Minister directed the authorities of PDD and PHE to restore electricity and water supply on war footing basis so that people of these areas do not face any difficulty. He also directed the concerned to ensure dewatering from water logged areas on priority basis.

During his visit, several deputations met with the Minister and informed about their day today problems. The Minister gave them assurance that all their problems and demands will be redressed on priority.

Following complaints by people at Pampore, the Minister ordered immediate attachment of Tehsildar Pampore. The people of the area had complained that the concerned Tehsildar was not responding to their pleas when they were caught in flood-like situation.
