KISHTWAR: The road restoration work on the Thathri- Gandoh Road, which got damaged due to a huge landslides at Dunadi area of district Doda is undergoing on war footing. The district administration Doda under the supervision of additional deputy commissioner Mr Imam din and district administration Kishtwar under the supervision of additional deputy commissioner Mr Hanief Malik along with XEn PMGSY,PWD(R&B) Doda/Kishtwar are jointly supervising and coordinating the road restoration works. Due to landslides tehsils Thillypingal and Gandoh of District Doda and tehsil Bonjaw of district kishtwar are disconnected from headquarters since last two days.
The district administrations with the help of forest department and rural development department has constructed a temporary footbridge (trangri)over Kalguni nallah through which people are moving to the other side of the slide. A shortest alternate route for carrying essential commodities to the disconnected areas of region is under construction and will be may made through by tomorrow. It is pertinent to mention here that land slide is continuously moving down and it may take few more days for complete restoration of road connectivity to the region.
