Rs 4.03 cr action plan approved for Kulgam
KULGAM, DECEMBER 14: District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today chaired a meeting of Assessment Committee to discuss and approve the action plan aimed to bring improvement in power scenario of the district.
The Plan approved by the Committee under Prime Minister’s Development Programme to the tune of Rs 4.03 crore envisages replacement of barbed wire, worn-out poles and conductors in the entire district.
It was given out that the Power Development Department is going to replace as many 2360 electric poles including 1540 LT posts, besides removing 242 kilometers of electric conductors in the current fiscal.
On completion, the Action Plan will bring marked improvement in power scenario in the entire Kulgam district and will proportionately curtail the transmission and distribution losses across the length and breadth of district.
On the occasion, SE PDD informed the meeting that the Department is going to upgrade Kulgam main Grid Station from 40 MVA to 70 MVA. He said three new receiving stations are coming up at Kilam (6.3MVA), Behibagh (10MVA) and Rambhama (10MVA) which are going to be commissioned by the end of this month.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC appealed the consumers to make judicious use of power in winter during peak hours so that power cuts and transformer damage rate could be minimized.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, SE PDD, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer PDD, AEEs and BDOs.
