RTO Kashmir refutes news story


Srinagar: Regional Transport Officer Kashmir Akramullah Tak has rebutted a news story which appeared in a media outlet titled ‘RTO fails to issue registration licences’ on 14-10-19.

Terming the new story baseless and concocted, RTO Kashmir said that due to internet blockade in J&K from August 5th 2019, manual work was carried out in the office of RTO Kashmir Batmaloo and for online work, the internet facility was being availed at office of Transport Commissioner old Secretariat Srinagar.

“From Ist August to 13th November, 2475 registration certificates, 875 learning licences and 413 new driving licences have been issued while 1988 driving licences have been renewed,” RTO said.

Notably, the office has functional leas line for internet facility from 7-10-19.
