Rural sanitation & health conditions in border areas at alarming stage Former SSPProminent Social worker and SSP (Rtd.) Bhupinder Singh today visited Gharana , Gohrey Bhansey , Kapoor pur Pindi Saroocha Biaspur parlah and other adjoining area of Suchetgarh constituency and interacted with people, particularly on the issue of poor sanitation in the area. The people apprised him of the poor sanitation in their villages as well as the health issues related thereto. Mr. Singh patiently heard the issues raised and said, “It is unfortunate that after 65 years of Independence, the rural households are still struggling to have access to toilet and drinking water facilities within their homes”. While talking to the Villagers, Mr. Singh said, “open defecation is generally because of socio-economic reasons and poor sanitation facilities but open defecation by women and girls must be seen as a NATIONAL SHAME ”.
During interaction, Locals said that their village Kapoorpur is unfortunately ignored by everybody whether it’s Leaders or government officials, which is the main reason that we are not covered under Nirmal Bharat abhiyan and total sanitation Campaign. On the other hand the locals of Biaspur parlah , pindi saroocha said that they are much worried about the worst conditions of the road network in their areas , which will become the cause of many such road accidents.
Singh also visited the families of the flood affected victims, whose houses either have collapsed or partially damaged and no more livable. He also requested District Civil administration to visit all flood affected villages and to take stock of the losses borne by the residents & farmers due to the floods.
In the last Mr. Singh assured that their issues will be taken up with the concerned departments and all efforts will be made to sort out the issues.
