Sadhotra flags off group of 27 Industrial workers on study tour of North India
JAMMU: Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra today flagged off a group of 27 Industrial workers Jammu Province on a study tour to prominent destinations of North India.
During the next 07 days of the tour, the workers will visit Chandigarh, Delhi, Agra, and Amritsar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the objective of this tour was to acquaint and update industrial workers with the latest technology and innovations in operation in the pioneering industrial units of the country. Besides, visiting different industries, the workers will also be taken to notable historical places to broaden their understanding regarding the culture and history of the country.
Sadhotra stressed for adopting latest technologies and engage skilled workers in industrial sector for its promotion. He said this will improve economic condition of the state. He said that the growth of industry will create job opportunities in private sector adding that Omar led Government has given priority to generate employment.
“Various steps have already been taken during the last five and half years in this regard” he said.
The Minister said that various centrally and state sponsored employment schemes have been launched to generate employment in the State. He appealed the youth to come forward and take full benefit of these schemes.
Among others, the Labour Commissioner, Mrs. Nirmal Sharma, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Mrs. Nitu Gupta and CEO/Secretary, J&K Building and other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, Sayeed Muried Hussain Shah were present on the occasion.
The Workers shall be headed and guided by R. K. Vaid, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ramban along with two other officials.
