SAMBA: Minister for planning and development labour and employment Ajay Sadhotra today inaugurated one day Employment Fair at Kehli Mandi ground in District Samba for the awareness of general public especially the unemployed youth about the self employment schemes being implemented by various departments ‘viz’ Employment, Agriculture DIC, Rural Development, KVIB, KVIC, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry etc.
Various departments functioning in Samba have put up their stalls for highlighting their activities and also displayed the finished goods/products in the Employment fair.
While speaking on the occasion Sadhotra complemented the District Administration for organizing this fair and assured that the department will continue giving the focused attention towards un-employed youth as various schemes have been launched by the Govt. for assisting the youth and farmers to set up their self employment enterprises.
He said that such programmes besides encouraging the youth for setting up their income generating units help in developing cordial relationship between the department and the local people. He said effective implementation of various self employment programmes under central and state sectors was the key to address the challenge of unemployment and to enable youth to earn dignified livelihood.
He called for a change in the mind set of the unemployed youth towards entrepreneurship to become job providers instead of job seekers. Spelling out various state and centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the state, he asked the people to take maximum benefits from the schemes to empower themselves socially and economically.
Officers and Experts from different line Departments viz. Agriculture, Horticulture, DIC, DRDA, Employment, Bank functionaries etc were also present on the occasion to disseminate the information and to guide the youth for setting up their own enterprises\income generating units.
Earlier, Assistant Director District Employment and Counseling Centre, Samba presented a resume of activities of the district employment and counseling center samba.
Among others Yash Pal Kundal , MLA Samba, DDC Samba RK Varma, Nirmal Sharma Labour Commissioner, Director Employment Dr. Abdul Rashid, Jt.Director Employment Manisha Sareen, ACR Samba M.Y. Malik, Asst. Director Employment Jammu, Rehana Bijli, Asst. Director Employment Samba Vikram Singh, besides District officers, farmers , Sarpanchs and Panchs, students , and the un-employed youth attended the fair.
Similarly the minister also inaugurated a one day employment fair organised at Govt degree college at Kathua which was also attended by large number of people of the area.
DDC Kathua, Jitendra K Singh, SSP Kathua, ADC Kathua, ADDC Kathua, were also present on the occasion.
Ajay Sadhotra while addressing on the occasion said that youth is the backbone of any state and hence a skilful and literate youth can contribute more in the development and progress purposely.
He said that purpose of organising employment fair across the state is to aware and motivate the youth for setting up their own income generating units in different sectors. He appealed that unemployed youths to get benefit of Voluntary Services
Allowance under Sher -e- Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme of state government under which allowance is given to unemployment youths.
An impressive cultural show of famous Dogri Folk Group Jitender Khajuria and Party was organised by Information Department Kathua which enthralled the audience besides Gidda performance by the students.
Earlier Deputy Director, Employment & counselling Centre Kathua Sunil Kumar in his welcome address said the purpose of the Employment Fair is to aware the unemployed educated youth about the existing various government sponsored schemes implemented by different departments and agencies for establishment of income generating units. He said employment department is shouldering responsibility to reach to the unemployed educated youth to get the benefits of various schemes to become self sufficient
Later minister also inaugurated newly built office building of Employment Counseling centre, Kathua which has been constructed by PWD(R&B) agency at an estimated cost of Rs.1.42 cores . Minister also inaugurated Labour Sarai building near bus stand Kathua which has been completed at an estimated cost of 57.75 lacs.
District officers, panches, sarpanches and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.
