Sagar tours city announces 55lakh of of his CDF
Srinagar : Maintaining that the government has undertaken a comprehensive programme for ensuring sustained development of Srinagar city, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that certain forces are trying hard to negate the achievements registered by the present government but people are well aware of their mechanization and would give a befitting reply to these elements of chaos and confusion.
The Minister was interacting with scores of deputations of different areas while his extensive tour of the Srinagar city. He was accompanied by senior officers of different departments.
Mr. Sagar said that several programmes like beautification of the old city of Srinagar by undertaking comprehensive development of various areas on heritage pattern will ensure that the tourist inflow to these historic areas increases which would be responsible for generating various avenues related to tourism and allied activities, thereby elevating their economic profile. He said besides various programmes have also been undertaken for ensuring better traffic mobility which include the prestigious road widening projects like Syed Mirakh Shah road, KZP, other related roads and instructions have already been passed to the officers for speeding up the pace of these works.
For tackling the global problem of unemployment and providing the much need job opportunities to the youth several programmes like Himayat, Udaan have been launched under which jobs have been provided to the educated youth. He said 17000 youth have been absorbed in various nationalized banks and other organizations, more efforts are on to provide jobs to several others.
The Minister while directing the officers to speed up the pace of work on various developmental programmes undertaken in the city said that these should be completed in time bound manner so that the people get benefitted from these. He said that certain forces are trying to create misgivings in the minds of people but history is testimony is the fact that they were responsible for putting in back burner various prestigious project of the Srinagar city.
Mr. Sagar directed the officers to complete the remaining work on the shrine of Maqdoom Mandav, Kalashpora within 3 months, so that it can be dedicated to the devotees. He also called for speeding up the work on the parking space being constructed at Khankhai Moulla with an estimated cost of Rs. 50 lakh.
The Minister also announced Rs. 55 lakh out of CDF to the Suklipora-Wazpora-Mehrajgunj road cut, so that proper connectivity can be established with the Nalahmar road and also called for installing electric poles in Maharajgunj area besides setting of an additional Ration depot for the people of the area.
