Satwari da Munda wins Mr. Singh Australia
Jasvinder Singh (Jasvyy) s/o Amrik Singh & Surinder Kaur from jammu won Mr. Singh Australia 2016, a competion held on 9 th april at Thornburry Theater in Melbourne, Australia. The show was judged by MTV Roadies Fame Rannvijay Singh. The competition was judged on different aspects in 3 rounds: Formal wear and Introduction, Questionnaire and talent round and at last the Cultural wear Couple walk.
1991 born, Jasvinder singh is from Satwari, Jammu. He did his schooling from Guru Harkrishan Public School in Nanak Nagar and then went on to complete graduation in Mechanical Engineering from MBS college of engineering and technology.
After completing his engineering he worked with tata motors at Delhi for 6 months and then he planned to continue his further studies. In december 2015 he went to Australia to pursue MBA from Charles Darwin University in Melbourne where he was also working part time at different places. The urge to represent his country, community and culture at the global stage motivated him to take part in the competition named as Mr. Punjab, Mr. Singh., Ms Kaur.
Between the two titles for males, he competed for Mr. Singh tittle.
There were 27 contestants in total that included 14 boys and 13 girls. They all were selected among many applicants who had applied from all over Australia.
The organisers Simran Singh Sethi and Gagan Kaur Chabbra put their hard work and absolute efforts to train the contestants.
Sadda Jammu da Munda scored the highest marks in every round winning the much coveted title of Mr. Singh Australia.
His answer to joining this platform was to “represent his country and community at every stage by keeping his Sabat, Surat ahead of everything else and that he wants to become an example for youth to show them that Sabat Surat is not a barrier. Infact it is a compliment to Sikhs and we should keep it with care and pride.”
