JAMMU: The Screening Committee which met here and was headed by Chief Secretary BR Sharma and comprising Principal Secretary (Home) RK Goyal and Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar has cleared the promotion of two Additional Director Generals of Police (ADGPs) as DGs, two IGPs as Additional DGPs and one SSP as DIG.
According to Media Sources, SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, an IPS officer of 2002 batch has been promoted as DIG.
S Gopal Reddy, Additional DG Legal Metrology, Telangana, who is on inter-State deputation to Telangana and Dr Shesh Pal Vaid, Additional DGP (Headquarters), J&K, have been promoted as DGs.
The Screening committee also cleared Rashmi Ranjan Swain, who is on Central deputation and posted in Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and AK Choudhary, Managing Director Police Housing Corporation, for promotion from the post of IGPs to Additional DGs.
It is pertinent to mention here that the suggestions for the promotions would go to the State Administrative Council (SAC), which was constituted by Governor NN Vohra day before yesterday. The State Administrative Council includes both Advisors to the Governor—Parvez Dewan and Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and few other top officers.
