SRINAGAR, AUGUST 7: The Enforcement wing of the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) conducted a demolition drive at Old KMD Yard in Lal Chowk to remove some structures from the area which were hampering the construction of multi-level parking facility there.
The demolition drive was conducted under the supervision of the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asghar Hassan Samoonl, DC Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Vice-Chairperson SDA, Mrs Salma Hamid, Secretary SDA, Ms Tazayun Mukhtar and other officers were present during the demolition drive.
Pertinently, the maiden mechanised multi-layer parking facility is coming up at Old KMD Yard at a cost of Rs 30 crore with a parking facility for around 300 vehicles.
The commissioning of the facility would go a long way in augmenting the parking facility in Lal Chowk area which otherwise remains highly congested.
