SDRF personnel trained by CD Volunteers to Cope with Untoward Incidents


Srinagar: On the recommendation of Commandant SDRF 1st Bn, an expert team from Civil Defence (Civil Defence) led by Javaid Tinda have started training State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel in swimming and boat rowing at SKICC Ghat, in Dal Lake Srinagar.

The training is being imparted by senior CD Warden, along with experts of CD Volunteers. The training was facilitated by QRT team of SDRF located at Nehru Park.

The training course started on 6th May and duration of the course is 15 days. The CD team will train approximately 300 SDRF personnel, in batches of 15 in each group. The trainees were encouraged by Commandant SDRF, and Civil Defence, Aamir Ali, (Secretary, J&K State Social Welfare Board).

The CD trainers are expert swimmers and rowers, as they hail from Dal area. The SDRF personnel appreciated the training imparted to them, as it would help them at the time of emergencies, since SDRF is tasked with the duty to respond in all disasters. On conclusion of the training the trainees will be provided with certificates, as well.
