Jammu: A multi-layered security has been setup in Udhampur ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Rally keeping in view the terrorist attacks in Arnia that have left ten people, including three civilians, dead.
Special troops in big numbers have been deployed in and around Udhampur as security measures to prevent any unwanted events from occurring. All routes that lead to the venue have been sealed and multiple check points have been setup with heavily armed para-military and police forces.
These measures became necessary after militants wearing combat uniform attacked army bunkers in Arnia sector, close to the Indo-Pak border, leaving ten people, including three civilians and three army men, dead in a fierce gun battle that started again this morning.
Modi will address a public rally in support of the party candidates in the fray for second phase of Assembly elections.
He is to address another rally in border town of Poonch district at 2 pm.
