JAMMU: IGP Security J&K, Sunil Sharma, held a Security review meeting to take stock of Security arrangements of 15th August -2014 in Security Headquarters Jammu today .
He reviewed the security scenario in Jammu Zone in general and arrangements made for forthcoming Independence Day in particular.
The officers from Intelligence agencies, Police Telecommunication, Police, Fire Services, Railways, Airport, Para -military and civil administrations briefed in the meeting about various arrangements made by the stake holders in the backdrop of Independence Day and visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister in the State on 12th of August. The meeting was apprised that all necessary arrangements have been made and concerned field officers and units stand thoroughly briefed and sensitized.
IGP Security asked the officers to put in their best for ensuring adequate security during the Independence Day function in Jammu.
He stressed upon effective coordination, better synergy, adequate briefing to the officers and men being deployed and effective supervision over the ground deployment to achieve better results.
IGP Security issued detailed instructions to all the stake holders to supervise the function at a senior level to avoid any inconvenience to the general public. Instructions were also given to officers responsible for the security of Railways, Airport, Civil Secretariat, High Court and other Vital Installations to remain extra alert and maintained high standard of security. The emergency response system of fire fighting, medical contingencies, SDRF should conduct mock exercise to meet any eventuality.
He urged the officers to work with better synergy and coordination for making Independence Day a successful function.
