Security to Mobile Towers, a step that government should have taken much earlier

The decision of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to direct the Police Department to take all possible steps to thwart any attempt to disrupt cellular networks in Valley, is a good step taken in favour of the state. He directed the Director General of Police to provide security to mobile tower installations and the owners in whose premises the towers have been installed. He said the miscreants cannot be allowed to take law into their own hands and police should deal sternly with such elements. The government should have taken this step much earlier to teach a lesson to miscreants that the state is not to tolerate such ill-activities.

For the last many days, we have seen news regarding attacks on mobile towers, owners, employees by some terror organisation which has created a sense of fear among the people and has also affected the mobile connectivity in the Valley which has affected the normal life of the people of the valley.
