Indian and Pakistani troops on Tuesday traded gunfire in Poonch district along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the military said.
Defence ministry spokesman Col. Manish Mehta told Media Sources that the Pakistan Army resorted to “unprovoked firing” in Krishna Ghati sector at 1.00 a.m. on Tuesday.
“They (Pakistani troops) used small arms and automatics. Our troops retaliated, effectively using same calibre weapons,” he said, adding that no causality was reported on the Indian side.
Pakistan had resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control in BG Sector district Rajouri on 10 August 15. At 2310hrs Pakistan troops had opened up small arms fire and fired intermittently. Troops on own side of Line of Control have retaliated appropriately. No casualty/ damage has been reported till last reports came in.
