Several Teachers found misusing SSA funds in Handwara

Srinagar, October 17:  The State Vigilance Commission has decided to take the complaints of misappropriation of funds under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid Day Meal Schemes lodged against teachers into serious consideration.

As per reports, after receiving complaints of teachers involved in the misappropriation of funds in a Middle School in a far off village of Handwara, the State Vigilance Commission told the Chief Education Officer, Kupwara to appoint District Education Planning Officer Kupwara as Enquiry Officer to look into the matter thoroughly.

Both the reports submitted by the Chief Education Officer, Kupwara and District Education Planning Officer, Kupwara say that several teachers and the Head Teacher working in the years 2011-12 and 2012-13 in Middle School Ahgam Rajwar, Handwara allegedly embezzled  huge amounts provided to the school under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid Day Meal Schemes.

Acting upon the reports, SVC has directed SSP Crime Branch Srinagar to register a formal case of misuse of funds and official position against all the alleged persons and start investigation on the matter.
