Jammu, May 22: Shahidi Parv of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji was celebrated at Gurudwara Chatthi Patshahi Talab Tillo Jammu in which thousands of Sikh devotees across the city participated.
On the occasion, Ragi Jatha Bhai Amandeep Singh Gurudwara Shri Sisganj, Bangla Sahib Delhi, Ragi Jatha Bhai Surjeet Singh Rasila Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Delhi and local ragi jathas of district gurudwara prabhandak committee recited the gurbani kirtan and Pracharak Gianai Bhagwan Singh Ji (Chandigarh wale) also threw light on the life of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and his sacrifices for the cause of humanity and religion. Guru ka langar was also served among the devotees.
Resolution was unanimously adapted regarding rehabilitation package after 1947 Pak refugees, minority commission, and to get the fair deal that the Sikh community in the state be given reservation quota of at least 2 percent in all the educational/technical institutions as also in the employment on the pattern of the reservation given to the minorities of the other communities in the state as well as other states of the country and promotion of Punjabi language.
Among others, all district gurudwara prabandhak committee members, S. Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Chairman state Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Chairman distrcit gurudwara prabhandak committee, S. Dalip Singh, president, S. Manjit Singh secretary, Attar Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
