Sham convenes public hearing, addresses issues on-the-spot
SRINAGAR :–Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma convened a public hearing at his official residence, here today and listened to the problems of the people.
Several deputations of people from different parts of the Kashmir Valley and individuals called on the Minister and apprised him about their problems. The problems which were brought to the notice of the Minister mainly pertained to the improvement of drinking water and irrigation facilities.
A deputation of Mechanical Irrigation Employees Conference, Kashmir, led by its President Mohammad Shafi Shala, Chief Patron Mr. Jalal-ud-Din Mir and General Secretary, Mr. S.M. Hussain also called on the Minster and submitted a charter of demands of the employees. The demands included, grant of two and half day special pay, risk allowance, change of designation of helpers, special incentives for the field staff.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and assured that their all genuine demands will be examined and resolved on merit. He issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officers to look into the issues and address on priority.
Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control, Mir Javed Jaffer was also present on the occasion.
