JAMMU, OCTOBER 01: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today visited border villages of Chak Hansu and Korotana Khurd to personally monitor the situation in the villages situated close to zero line.
The Minister assured the people that every help and support would be provided to them by the government and asked them to remain cautious and vigilant. It is our duty to cooperate with security forces and civil administration, as they are putting their best efforts to ensure our safety, he added.
The Minister directed the concerned security agencies to ensure proper security arrangements at various vital locations and maintain close coordination with the field functionaries in the border villages.
The Minister informed the villagers that government has set up temporary shelters at Bana Singh Stadium, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School RS Pura, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Miran Sahib, ITI RS Pura, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Kotli Shahdoula, City Middle School RS Pura, Boys Middle School Mill area, Girls Middle School Mill area and Social Welfare Complex RS Pura for accommodating them in case of any contingency. The district administration has also prepared a comprehensive contingency plan for ensuring their safety, the Minister added.
He further informed them that appropriate arrangements of food, drinking water, medical facility, toilets, electricity and transportation have been put in place by the government in these temporary shelters.
