In a shocking incident, two out of three men arrested for the kidnap, gang-rape and subsequent murder of a minor girl in Meerut have said that they committed the crime ‘for fun’, the Times of India has reported.
As per the report, the arrested accused Zulfikar Abbasi and Dilshad confessed to their crimes after their arrest. They told the police they, along with the third accused Israil, had watched a film and consumed alcohol, following which they decided to ‘kidnap a girl for fun’.
The trio spotted a girl on the highway. They dragged her into the car on NH 91 near the girl’s village, following which they gang-raped and strangled her to death. They then dumped the body near a canal at Greater Noida and fled.
The police has seized the car, as well as other belongings of the accused. Earlier, the family had alleged the girl had been kidnapped, gang-raped and murdered, but the police had first called it a case of elopement.
