Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces intercept video urging women to join terror outfits, issues warning
Security forces across Jammu and Kashmir are on a high alert after a video was intercepted urging women to join terror outfits.
In the video message, Sana refers to the alleged human rights violations by security forces in the Kunan and Poshpora villages in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district in 1991.
In the video, she urges the women to join ‘the cause’ in wake of the recent use of pellet guns on stone pelters by the paramilitary forces and the braid chopping incident.
The security forces suspect that the video is being used by the LeT and JeM in a bid to recruit women.
Mujahid is believed to have entered India in the first week of February 2018.
Security agencies say she was last seen during the last week of January 2018 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. But, how she entered India is still not clear.
Fidayeens or suicide bombers aren’t new to the Valley. But woman suicide terrorists add a new dimension to the on-going violence in the strife-torn state.
For one, a local woman participating in terror acts would give the attacks an indigenous hue and help Pakistan’s narrative, sources said.
Separately, the entry of women terrorist would also make the job of security forces more difficult.
We don’t have enough women within our ranks and generally depend upon the local police or the paramilitary forces like the CRPF to help us in searching villages or frisking of women, a senior Army officer on the condition of anonymity told India Today.
