Shoe hurled at Nawaz Sharif in Lahore mosque
Lahore Mar 11: An unidentified man hurled a shoe on Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif. The shoe hit his shoulder, as he approached the podium to deliver a speech. Later he climbed the stage and shouted a slogan while standing in front of Nawaz.
Ousted PM was invited to attend a seminar in Jamia Naeemia seminary in Garhi Shahu.
Police have taken the man in custody who threw a shoe on Nawaz Sharif .
This incident has added to the series of such attacks targeting various leaders across Pakistan in the recent days.
However, the ousted prime minister went ahead with his address, although reportedly shortening his speech, only to thank the organizers and saying words of prayer for the deceased cleric.
The accused was caught and later thrashed by the audience before handing him to the security agencies present at the venue.
An investigation has been launched into this incident.
Yesterday a man threw ink at Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif while he was addressing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers convention in Sialkot. Last month, a man hurled a shoe at Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal while he was addressing a workers’ convention in Narowal.
