UPDATE AT 1:10 PM – 11 people, including 2 CRPF personnel, have been injured in a grenade blast in Shopian town of south Kashmir.
Militants hurled the grenade at the CRPF personnel on duty in the main chowk of Shopian town. The grenade exploded on the road resulting in injuries to 11 people, including 8 civilians and a police officer.
A grenade blast rocked Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday morning. According to reports, the blast has resulted in injury of two civilians. The grenade was hurled at the para-military troopers who were standing near a forces vehicle.
The alert Indian Army has cordoned off the area and the search operation is on. More details awaited.
Another terrorist attack in Pampore area near Srinagar was still underway at the time of this report. Three terrorists were holed up inside J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute since Monday.
The operation to flush-out militants holed up inside the building has entered the second day today, even as security forces launched a fresh offensive against the ultras.
