Six major thefts this week in Jammu, police sleeping
Jammu: The series of theft cases in Raina Colony, daylight robbery at Central Bank of India (Gol Market branch) and theft at religious places have left people of Jammu in shock. The inefficiency of police department to arrest these miscreants is quite evident.
The recent theft case has been reported from Sarwal where thieves broke into a temple and took away all the valuables with them. On Tuesday midnight, the thieves broke into a Gurudwara at Raina Colony and took away money from the donation box.
2 days ago, the thieves targeted a house in Peer Mitha and decamped with scooty, jewellery and cash.
In a similar incident, 3 days ago, unknown miscreants broke into the house of a teacher and stole cash Rs 1 lakh. A report of this theft was registered at Nowabad Police Station but the thieves are still absconding .
Earlier, due to terrorism the government used to declare high alert but now, a high alert, due to increasing theft cases has been declared in the city.
