VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Surjeet Singh Slathia today laid foundation stone for construction of Community Facility Centre (CFC) at Mandi Garh Gurah Slathian.
The CFC to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 40 lakh is being executed by Rural Development Department.
The MLA has provided Rs.20 lakh from his CDF and rest of Rs.20 lakh shall be released under Model Village Scheme which includes construction of Boundary wall, Bath Rooms etc.
On the completion of this project the people of the area would be able to organise their social functions in the said building free of cost.
Slathia assured the locals that their pending demands like construction of lanes and drains, repair of roads, repair of electric poles and replacement of old electric wires shall be taken up soon.
Slathia said that the Omar Abdullah led government has assured equitable development of all the regions of the State adding that the main attention has been given by the government for up-gradation of the basic facilities and infrastructural quality education, water and power supply, better medical health care facilities for the benefit of the people of remote and far flung areas.
Slathia cautioned the people against divisive forces and urged them to work for cementing the bonds of brotherhood among various communities.
He assured the people that the promises made to them by the government will be fulfilled. He sought people’s whole hearted support to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Slathia was given a warm welcome by the people on his arrival at the venue.
Among others District Panchayat Officer, BDO Purmandal, Panches and Sarpanches were present on the occasion.
