Srinagar, Oct 17 : Top cop S M Sahai, IPS officer of 1987 batch of J&K cadre, recently sent on central deputation by the Jammu & Kashmir Government has been appointed as Joint Secretary in National Security Council Secretariat and with this Sahai would be working on a coveted position at the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) directly commanded and controlled by Prime Minister.
Sources while disclosing this revealed that the appointments committee of union cabinet has approved the appointment of S M Sahai IPS J&K 1987 as joint secretary in National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) for a period of 5 years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post. Sahai is the first IPS officer of J&K cadre to occupy this key position at the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS).
Sahai served as IGP (Kashmir Range). He also held the coveted position of ADGP (Additional Director General Police) CID.
