Smuggler arrested with 25 kg poppy husk in Jammu and Kashmir

BANIHAL: Police on Thursday arrested a pedestrian and recovered 25kg of poppy husk from his possession. As per the details, on specific information from reliable sources a special Naka was laid at T.Chowk Banihal by a party of Police Station Banihal.

During checking one pedestrian was carrying a gunny bag was signaled to stop but he tried to flee from the Naka. He was overpowered by cops and during frisking of bag, four pillow covers filled with poppy husk weighing 25 kgs were recovered from his possession.

The pedestrian identified as Gurvinderjeet Singh son of Kuldeep Singh resident of village Gudwali Tehsiland Distt Jalandhar was arrested and a case vide FIR No 149 /2018 under section 8/15 NDPS was registered against him at Police Station Banihal.
