Seoul, May 11 : South Korean authorities on Wednesday confirmed the country’s fifth Zika virus case.
The Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said a 39-year-old man visited Philippines’ Batangas province on April 27 and returned to South Korea on May 4, Xinhua news agency reported.
He visited a hospital in Samcheok, some 290 km east of Seoul, on Monday after developing a rash, and joint and muscle pains. He was diagnosed with the mosquito-borne virus.
