Speakers reviews pace of progress, dev works in Eidgah constituency
SRINAGAR : Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Mubarak Gul today directed the executing agencies of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JK PCC), Floriculture, Health and Sports Council to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on all on-going constructions in Eidgah constituency and complete them in a stipulated time frame.
This direction was given by the Speaker during review meeting with the officers of these departments in his office Chamber.
The Speaker was briefed about the progress of different works executed by these agencies. It was informed that the construction work on Old Age Home, Saidpora costing Rs 4.37 crore is in full swing. He was informed that Rs 2.05 crore has been utilized on the project so far. He was also informed that Rs 2.55 crore have been expended on Palpora Footbridge costing Rs 3.05 crore. Similarly, it was informed that Rs 65 lakh has been expended out of the total project cost of Rs 3.81 crore on construction of health Centre Palpora.
Detailed discussions were also held on Community Centres of Rehman Dar Memorial Centre Alnoor Safakadal and DalalMohalla Community Centre on which Rs 47 lakh have been utilized and these projects are nearing completion.
While discussing the works under taken by the Floriculture department, the Speaker directed the officers of Floriculture department to maintain Eidgah Park properly and ensure its beautification. He said that Rs 1.26 crore has already been released for upgradation work in Eidgah Park under the Floriculture sector.
Discussing the progress of construction of Hospital buildings in Eidgah constituency, the Speaker directed the health authorities to ensure X-Ray, Ultrasonography machine and ECG in Sangam Hospital. He also directed them to provide Ambulance for the Health Centre Sangam.
It was informed in the meeting that Rs 40 lakh has been kept for Health Centre Palpora for construction purpose during the current year. He was also informed that the Sangam Hospital will be shifted to new building within fortnight.
Detailed discussion was also held on development of playing fields in Eidgah constituency. It was informed in the meeting that the construction work on Madr-i-Meharban Stadium Palpora, Playing field Pamposh Colony, Iqbal Play Field Noorbagh and Playing field Goripora are almost completed with expenditure of Rs 42 lakh.
The meeting was attended by Director Health Services, Kashmir, Director NRHM, Secretary Sport Council and other officers and engineers of various departments.
