Speedy truck hits car at Sidhra, one student died, another seriously injured


Jammu: One youngster died and another injured seriously injured in a road accident near Bajalata area in Sidhra after a speedy truck hit a car late night on Tuesday.

As reported in a local daliy, the deceased boy is identified as Rohit Raina son of Pawan Raina resident of Sunderbani. The boy was a paramedical student and was staying in Jammu at a rented place.


The incident happened while Rohit was returning back from the wedding at Nagrota in a car bearing number JK02 BK-4741 with his brothers Saurav and two of his friends Ashish Gupta and Nitish Gupta. The latter two are the residents of Rehari Colony. On their way back, the boy stopped car for a while and were standing on the side of the road when a speedy truck came and hit them. Saurav and Nitish somehow saved themselves but Rohit and Ashish got seriously injured.

Both the injured were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Bakhshi Nagar where doctor declared Rohit dead. The other boy Ashish is still under treatment and was unconscious till the last reports came in.

However, the truck driver who hit the boys escaped with the vehicle.
