Sprawling Buds donates Rs 50,000 to Tawi Trekkers 


JAMMU: In order to promote adventure activities especially Sport Climbing in J&K, Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, here donated an amount of Rs 50000 to Tawi Trekkers J&K, the pioneer adventure club in J&K

The cheque was presented by the Director of the School, Arti Sharma to general secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Shawetica Khajuria in the presence of Chairman, Rahul Sharma and Vice Principal of the school, Vidhina Mahajan; senior vice president, Ram Khajuria, and joint secretary of Tawi Trekkers, Sonam Sidharth.

It may be mentioned here that Sprawling Buds School has been in the forefront to promote sport climbing in J&K. The school has a standard 40ft high fiber glass sport climbing wall on which all the district and open competitions of Jammu province as well as State Sport Climbing competitions are regularly conducted. The school has hosted a number of North Zone Climbing Competitions also on this wall. The school has also been sponsoring many coaching camps in sport climbing for the local budding sport climbers besides participating in almost all the activities of Tawi Trekkers J&K.

With a vision to produce international climbers in J&K the school has also provided international standard technical facilities to the sport climbers of J&K by installing an international standard Finger Board in the school premises. The move has paid rich dividends. Last year the state won the prestigious North Zone Champions Trophy besides winning a number of medals in the National Competitions and two climbers of the state represented the country in the World Sport Climbing Competition this year.Meanwhile, Ram Khajuria expressed his gratitude to the school management for the liberal good will gesture and hoped that with sustained support of the school Tawi Trekkers’ mission of producing international sport climbers and medalists shall be achieved soon.
