Srinagar Fiasco: Now, a local tanker driver attacked, restrictions imposed to prevent protests

Srinagar: Restrictions were imposed on Friday in parts of Srinagar city and Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir to prevent separatist-called protests over the fatal petrol bomb attack on a local youth on October 9.

Geelani called for protests after Friday prayers over the youth’s killing in Udhampur.

“Restrictions have been imposed in Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, M.R.Gunj, Safakadal and Maisuma areas of Srinagar city today (Friday),” a police officer told Media Sources.

Restrictions have also been imposed in south Kashmir’s Bijbehara and Anantnag towns.

Naseer Ahmad, 25, was critically injured during clashes with the security forces in Bijbehara town on Wednesday.

The youth was hit on the forehead by a tear smoke shell.
