Srinagar police solves hit and run case within hours

Srinagar June 01: Srinagar police solved a hit and run case within hours of accident on the highway. The driver has been arrested and vehicle has been seized.

Unknown vehicle hit and injured a cyclist 28 yrs old Sajad Hussain Rather son of Ali Mohammad Rather resident of Balahama at Panthachowk. The driver fled from the spot after the accident. The injured was shifted to the hospital for treatment. A police party of Panth Chowk in a swift effort seized the fleeing vehicle Chota Hathi bearing registration no. JK01T/7317 that was dumped by the driver at Baba Demb, Srinagar within hours of the accident. The accused driver Syed Rashid Ashraf resident of Khonmuh was taken into custody and the vehicle was seized.

A case FIR No. 42/2015 under section 279, 337/RPC was registered against the accused driver and investigation has been taken up.
