Srinagar to host the ‘longest’ Iftar today; to be recorded in Limca Book of Records

Srinagar July 11: is all set to write history afresh by organizing Asia’s longest Iftar party on the banks of Dal lake.
The Iftar party will spread over a 1.6 kilometer stretch along the Dal lake and is going to be recorded in the Limca Book of Records.
This event will see around 3000 people from various areas of Kashmir breaking their fast on today evening.
According to the organizers, the Sharjah city of United Arab Emirates currently holds the record of Asia’s longest Iftar which stretched over 1.3 kilometers.
The organizers plan to lay carpets on a 1.6 kilometer stretch on Dal lake banks for this grand Iftar. The Iftar has support from just local organizations alongwith independent volunteers. Among the delicacies to be served will be dates, Chicken Tehri among other food items for the iftar.
