SRINAGAR: In its second meeting, the empowered committee on regularization of casual/seasonal/need-based and other workers- a much popular initiative of previous government, today cleared 117 cases, while is expected to approve more on its next meeting on July 18.
On the directions of Governor N.N. Vohra, the Empowered Committee headed by Navin Kumar Choudhary, Principal Secretary Finance, in its meeting held today, cleared 117 out of 119 cases for regular engagement of casual /seasonal/need-based and other workers.
“Two cases were rejected for want of the required documentation. The next meeting of the Empowered Committee will be held on 18th July, 2018,” an official spokesperson said.
It may be recalled that Governor Vohra has issued directions that the Empowered Committee should meet regularly to clear, even piece-meal, all the pending cases for the regular engagement of such workers under SRO-520.
