Stiff opposition within PDP after tuesday meeting; may reconsider alliance with BJP  

Srinagar, January 21: The suspense on government re-formation in the state has already been deepening and now Member of Parliament and senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party, Tariq Hameed Karra has said that he has a problem with PDP making a coalition government with BJP.

The MP had a one on one meeting with party president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday evening where he conveyed his reservations and apprehensions and told Mufti to think again before making any such decision of making alliance with BJP.

Talking about the meeting, sources said that the leader has advised Mehbooba to either make a coalition with secular forces or go for fresh elections in the state. He said that making an alliance with the right-wing BJP will be a big mistake.

The sources further said that the meeting continued for more than a hour. It indicates that PDP president is still thinking about their options and will take more time to decide over the matter.

However he told media that he met Mehbooba on Tuesday but he did not discuss any details about the meeting but said, “My views on the alliance with the BJP are known in public domain, you can refer to them any time.”
