Street plays, cultural shows organised in Reasi, Jammu

REASI – A series of street plays and cultural shows were organised on route of Election Express in Panthal, Katra, Naumain, Dhirti, Kakryal, Pouni, Ransoo, Barakh, Talwara, Khairal and various other places in a series.
Artists and poets attracted a large number of participants at these venues and loudspeakers mounted on the election express van also made announcements for election related matters. These programmes were also conducted at 6 schools in addition to 18 general venues of public places in the district.Street Plays_ Cultural Shows organized at 24 venues
During final phase of SVEEP campaign, a series of programmes and activities are being organised every day across the district simultaneously for greater electoral awareness and participation.
The plays and cultural shows depicted a series of measures taken by district administration for facilitating electoral participation and ethical and informed voting. The Electronic Voting Machines were also displayed at these venues and EVM familiarization camps were organised amidst musical tones. Besides, pamphlets with detail of time of polling hours, polling booth details were distributed among the participants.
During the live polling booth established inside the Election Express Van, a large number of people turned up for mock polling and EVM familiarisation. Besides, volunteers from NGOs also collaborated in organising awareness programmes. The road show election express and cultural procession passed through the main markets of town raising slogans for electoral participation and a large number of youth vowed to be a part of the movement and turn up in greater numbers during the polling for Lok Sabha scheduled to be held on April 17.
Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal, more than 100 different activities have been taken up under SVEEP in the district for enhanced electoral literacy, awareness and participation.
