Jammu, May 20: The students of Higher Secondary School Kalakot had locked their teachers in the staff room of the school yesterday and the police themselves had to reach the spot and release the teachers who had been locked up in the staff room.
Earlier, the students along with their parents of Class XI staged a demonstration in the school campus alleging that their teachers had failed them in their final exams as the students did not pay bribe to them. The school administration approached the students and parents for addressing their grievance and both the parties discussed the matter at length. The explanation by the teachers ended up annoying some of the students who then locked the vice-principal along with the teachers in the staff-room. The Police rushed to the spot to rescue the teachers locked in the room.
The students also met Naib tehsildar Mohammad Iqbal to apprise him of their grievances and alleged that the teachers failed them deliberately as they failed to pay them bribe money. The Naib Tehsildar promised the students that he would constitute an inquiry committee in the matter.
