Students protest in Jammu again for action on NIT Srinagar

Jammu, April 7: Hundreds of Students of various colleges again protested at Dogra Chowk by blocking the Tawi Bridge. The students who belong to various colleges in Jammu were numbered above 500 and demanded that the statement by the Deputy Chief Minister of the state on usage of light baton charge be distracted.

A student of the Law Department at JU, Avijot Singh said, “The BJP leadership has done nothing after a highly uninformed and irresponsible statement by their Legislature Head. The BJP should apologise for the statement made by Dy CM about light baton charge. Everyone in the country knows how brutally those students were beaten up and even had the injury marks that they showed to MHRD officials.”

Singh further added that action must be taken against the officials who ordered the lower rank policemen to control the situation by lathicharge.
